Located in the creative heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter we are thrilled to unveil Disorder, our latest bar and eatery project. Chosen by the new owners as their preferred partner, we were entrusted with the task of bringing their vision to life – a venture inspired by the iconic band Joy Division. Disorder, the successor to Walrus, offers a unique experience, blending Asian-inspired street food, craft cocktails, sake, craft beers, wine, and live music throughout the night.

Our journey began with James Stewart and Sam Koropisz’ infectious enthusiasm for this project, driven by their passion for Joy Division's debut album, 'Unknown Pleasures'. We immediately shared their excitement and were captivated by their vision. The location on High Street in the Northern Quarter offered immense potential, which we wholeheartedly embraced and transformed into something extraordinary.

To maximize natural light, we installed bi-folding windows across the entire frontage, illuminating the ground floor and creating a welcoming ambiance. Inside the space, we started anew, stripping away remnants of the past. The result? A super stylish and functional setting that seamlessly blends into the neighbourhood, complete with new flooring, lighting, and furniture. The remodelled bar serves as a focal point, inviting customers to indulge in Disorder’s alluring offerings, including its array of drinks and selection of food.

We took great care to craft an intriguing entrance, a testament to our commitment to drawing visitors into the space. The feature wall provides a captivating first impression, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. Around the corner awaits a true masterpiece—a vast mural of Ian Curtis, the lead singer of Joy Division, brought to life by the renowned graffiti artist Akse. Our pride in hosting, a street artist Akse 19 masterpiece is immeasurable, adding an extra element of awe to the overall atmosphere.

Venturing downstairs, guests will discover a completely different atmosphere—an intimate yet spacious music venue. If the walls could share their secrets, they would surely recount fascinating stories. To heighten the vibe, we refreshed the space with new flooring, lighting, and a refurbished bar. LED signage and a custom-designed DJ stand further enhance the venue, ensuring a night to remember. And yes, we even dedicated our efforts to creating a new and rather composed toilet area downstairs – because every detail matters to us.
